These Cord Grip Decentralisers are a great, alternative to a ceiling hook.

The small cylinders are screwed into the ceiling using the screw provided, before the cable is threaded through and connected via the ceiling rose.
These Decentralisers also have a small grub screw to keep the cable in place.
